Nowadays streetwear is dominated by the luxury brands. More often than not a wave of tracksuits combined with monochrome colouring will overshadow the sector. However, Dutch based brand Parra couldn’t be further from this assumption.

Founded by Pieter ‘Parra’ Janssen, Parra have once again stepped into their usual territory with curved pop imagery, vibrant hand drawn letters and highly saturated colours for AW19. They’ve given us a collection of transitional staples from striped rugby shirts to colourblocked hoodies for maximised warmth.
The essence of vibrancy is a key aspect to this collection and the backbone of Parra as a brand. Taking on their signature style of surrealism, pop art graphics and bold colours is an ever-present feature in the workings of founder, Pieter Janssen. Having grew up into artistry and design, Pieter has been celebrated and championed around the world but has gained an underground following from the outset.

The continuity of this collection brings together bright tones into standout pieces such as a Racing Goose Rugby Shirt and the Mountain Stripes Windbreaker Jacket. As well as standout pieces to the collection it is a relevant reminder of the workings of Pieter’s mind and his artistic inspiration through the Earl the Cat T-shirt, encapsulating the vivid worlds created by Parra.

This is a clever move for the brand, reaffirming their fundamentals and aesthetic into becoming a considered streetwear brand for all.
